DIY Name sign

So the other day I saw this really cute pin of a name sign and I thought that it would be perfect for our little girls nursery corner. Since I am so crafty, I decided to do it myself using this as an inspiration.

Some time and effort and it's finished!

If you want to do one yourself  bare with me!

You will need:

  • scissors
  • crafting paper
  • glue
  • cardboard
  • paper
  • pen/printer
Before you can actually make a name sign you have to find a font that you like You can also make one up, like I did for "Mia". For the smaller one I searched from the internet.
Got mine from here.

Now that you have that printed out or drawed. Cut it out and glue to the cardboard or just trace it.
Cut out of the cardboard. ( If you want to make your sign thicker cut out another layer of cardboard and glue together. The bigger sign "Mia" is made out of three layers so it's very strong ).
Take your crafting paper and glue to the front. Cut out any excess paper but leave enough so that you can cover the sides and glue it to the back.
Now cut the paper as shown above.
Glue down all of the bits separately so that the edges of the curves would stay smooth. ( if your paper is too short from some places you can just cut a strip of the same paper and glue it where needed and then glue to the back).
Here you can see I've finished. I also added layer of paper to the back of the sign, if you don't it'll look like this ( This step is obviously optional ):
You can also add something to hang with (wire, yarn etc.)
 And you are done!
I would love to see your pictures in the comments.

Creativity is messy
and I am very creative!

See you next time ..
